Volleyball Recap: Central Cambria Starts Season with Win Against Chestnut Ridge

Central Cambria had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against the Chestnut Ridge Lions on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Red Devils, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

While Central Cambria won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-13, 25-23.

Central Cambria was led to victory by Riley Kauffman and Rowan Ruddek. Kauffman had 11 digs and one block, while Ruddek had 17 digs. The dominant performance also gave Kauffman a new career-high in assists (36).

Chestnut Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
