After flying high against Dyer County two weeks ago, Crockett County came back down to earth. The Cavaliers fell just short of the South Gibson Hornets by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. Crockett County's loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Crockett County's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 10-4. As for South Gibson, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-5-1.

Looking ahead, Crockett County is taking a road trip to square off against Haywood at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Gibson, they will host Fayette Ware at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Fayette Ware's last eight games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
