BRANDYWINE, Md. - the Yellowjackets had a big 21-point third quarter on Saturday, sealing a 36-0 victory over Surrattsville (Clinton, Md.).
Gwynn Park scored on a touchdown run by
Jay Adams, a touchdown pass by Adams to
Xavier Ducksworth and a
Joseph Hayman touchdown run in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a defensive touchdown in the second quarter, GP led 15-0 at the half.
The Brandywine school expanded its lead to 36 points entering the fourth quarter. The Yellowjackets scored four times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Adams.
With the win Gwynn Park extended its winning streak to eight games. GP defeated the Knights 48-0 last week.
Adams was the top performer for the Yellowjackets. He threw one touchdown and ran for two touchdowns.
The Hornets came in allowing just 15.1 points per game this season. Gwynn Park had given up an average of 5.7 points prior to the contest. The zero points that Surrattsville ended with were well below its average of 24.0 coming into the game.
A 33-6 Gwynn Park victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
