Baseball Recap: Lewis County Comes Up Short

Lewis County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 7-1 to the East Fairmont Bees. That's two games in a row now that the Minutemen have lost by exactly six runs.

Lewis County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Garrett Moats, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Lewis County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for East Fairmont, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Lewis County will head out on the road to challenge Clay-Battelle at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cee Bees' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Minutemen's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for East Fairmont, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Robert C. Byrd at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bees' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
