Basketball Game Preview: Providence Classical Paladins vs. Northland Christian Cougars

Providence Classical hasn't had much luck against Northland Christian recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Providence Classical Paladins will be home for the holidays to greet the Northland Christian Cougars at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with 11 losses in a row, Providence Classical turned things around against First Baptist Academy on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Eagles 46-43.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Northland Christian duked it out withSt. Pius X on Tuesday. Northland Christian snuck past St. Pius X with a 56-51 victory. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Panthers are ranked 614th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northland Christian's win came from a few key players Providence Classical will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kameron McKnight, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Pallanez, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.

Providence Classical's win bumped their record up to 2-11. As for Northland Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 13-2.

Things could have been worse for Providence Classical, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 49-34 loss to Northland Christian when the teams last played back in November of 2020.
