Baseball Recap: Carroll's Win Ends Seven-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carroll). They put the hurt on the Taylor Titans with a sharp 17-7 win on Tuesday. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 6-5 victory the Titans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Landon Hammond was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Coy Lytle also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Carroll was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Carroll's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-9. As for Taylor, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Coincidentally, Carroll and Taylor will both be playing Clinton Prairie the next time they take the field. The Cougars will host the Gophers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Titans will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
