Recap: Yates Center Wildcats vs. Jayhawk Linn Jayhawks
This season hasn't been kind to the Yates Center Wildcats, who are still winless after their fifth contest. They had to suffer through a rough 60-33 loss at the hands of Jayhawk Linn. Yates Center lost against Jayhawk Linn in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 46-38 score last time.
Jayhawk Linn's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Clay Nichols led the charge by scoring eight points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nichols has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Broyles, who scored nine points.
Yates Center bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Jayhawk Linn, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Yates Center will play host again and welcome Uniontown, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Uniontown comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Jayhawk Linn will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Crest at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
