Basketball Recap: Heritage Takes a Loss

Heritage won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They came up short against the Calhoun Yellow Jackets, falling 71-48. While losing is never fun, the Generals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 330th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 155th).

Jaxon Moore went supernova for Calhoun, going 8 of 14 on his way to 20 points and seven assists. The dominant performance gave Moore a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trace Hawkins, who posted eight points along with nine assists and three steals.

Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Calhoun, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heritage will square off against LaFayette at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Calhoun, they will face off against Northwest Whitfield at 8:30 p.m. on Friday.
