Volleyball Game Preview: Bloomfield Bobcats vs. Shiprock Chieftains

Bloomfield is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, they and the Shiprock Chieftains will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Bloomfield took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Crownpoint.

Bloomfield was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 21-25, 25-23, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Shiprock was able to grind out a solid victory over Bernalillo on Saturday, taking the game 3-1.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-18, 24-26, 25-18.

Bloomfield's record now sits at 5-7. As for Shiprock, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's match: Bloomfield has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.8 aces per game.
