Softball Recap: Riley County Comes Up Short

Riley County fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Holton on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 6-5. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Riley County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Holton, they moved to 6-17 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Riley County beat the Wildcats by a score of 12-6 later that day.
