Recap: Marble Falls Mustangs vs. Taylor Ducks
The Marble Falls Mustangs''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 46-22 defeat at the hands of Taylor. The match was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Marble Falls struggled afterwards.
Taylor's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joshua Mikulencak led the charge by throwing for 374 yards and four touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Mikulencak hasn't dropped below 300 passing yards for four straight games. Jacob Mikulencak was another key contributor, picking up 191 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Marble Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Taylor, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Marble Falls will head out on the road to face off against Lampasas at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lampasas presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Marble Falls in Texas (Lampasas is ranked 231st, while Marble Falls is ranked 853rd). As for Taylor, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Canyon Lake at 7:30 p.m.
