Jones County fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Eagle's Landing on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 30-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Greyhounds' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Jones County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Travis Miller rushed for 98 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries.

Jones County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Eagle's Landing, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Coming up, Jones County will be playing in front of their home fans against Locust Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' defense has only allowed 14.4 points per game this season, so the Greyhounds' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Eagle's Landing, they are taking a road trip to challenge Union Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
