Preview: Pueblo Centennial Bulldogs vs. Pueblo West Cyclones
Pueblo Centennial is 1-9 against Pueblo West since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Pueblo Centennial Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Pueblo West Cyclones at 7:30 p.m. Pueblo Centennial is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Pueblo Centennial, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 63-45 loss to Pueblo South.
Meanwhile, Pueblo West was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 48-44 to Pueblo East. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Pueblo West came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while Pueblo East is ranked 257th).
Pueblo Centennial now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Pueblo West, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.
Pueblo Centennial was taken down by Pueblo West 82-52 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Pueblo Centennial, Colton Hawkins (who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 21 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
