Basketball Recap: Boulder Creek Comes Up Short

Boulder Creek played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 59-27 loss at the hands of the Liberty Lions. The Jaguars have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Liberty was led to victory by Francesca Sofia and Makenna Johnson. Sofia almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine steals, while Johnson went 8-for-16 to rack up 17 points in addition to seven steals and six boards. What's more, Johnson also posted a 50% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2024. Emma Koker was another key player, putting up nine points and four steals.

Boulder Creek's loss dropped their record down to 5-20. As for Liberty, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

Boulder Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Liberty, they will take on Pinnacle at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pinnacle knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matchups -- so hopefully Liberty likes a good challenge.
