Basketball Recap: Alexandria Comes Up Short

Alexandria was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 51-39 to the Talladega Tigers. The Valley Cubs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 66-53.

Zae Cunningham was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds for Talladega. Cunningham has been hot recently, having also posted four or more steals the last four times she's played. Jekeria Wilson was another key player, putting up six points and three steals.

Alexandria's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Talladega, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-10.

Alexandria and Ashville will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for Talladega, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Talladega Tigers take on the Munford Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
