Basketball Recap: Norman Thomas' Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but Norman Thomas unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 54-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Washington Heights Expeditionary. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 414th, while Washington Heights Expeditionary are ranked 105th).

Norman Thomas lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Chris Taylor, who posted 15 points. The contest was Taylor's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jariel Rodriguez, who scored 15 points.

Norman Thomas' defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Washington Heights Expeditionary, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-1.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Norman Thomas Tigers take on the Randolph Campus Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Washington Heights Expeditionary does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
