Baseball Recap: Plainfield East Comes Up Short

Plainfield East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 16-2 to the Sandburg Eagles. The Bengals were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Plainfield East's defeat dropped their record down to 7-20-1. As for Sandburg, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 17-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Plainfield East will square off against Joliet West at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Sandburg, they will face off against Homewood-Flossmoor at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
