Softball Recap: Lake Washington Kangaroos vs. Skyline Spartans

Lake Washington had lost nine straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 0-15 to make it ten. They came up short against the Skyline Spartans, falling 14-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-5 back in March.

Elise Roe was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Malia Donohue was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Skyline, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games.

On Skyline's side, Addison McGillis looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Nazli Chavez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Emma Dahlgren, who went 4-for-5 with three runs and four RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Washington will host Issaquah at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Skyline, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Eastlake at 6:30 p.m.
