Softball Game Preview: Franklin Warriors vs. Bernards Mountaineers

For the second straight game, Franklin will face off against Bernards. The Warriors will venture away from home to take on the Mountaineers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Franklin will bounce into Thursday's match after beating Bernards, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. The Warriors came out on top against the Mountaineers by a score of 9-5 on Tuesday. The Warriors' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Josslyn Sejeck spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on 14 hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Casey G was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those runs were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kiera G, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Franklin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Franklin's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Bernards, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
