It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Palo Verde had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 9-5 win over the Shadow Ridge Mustangs. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Noah Knudson made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in nine consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Matthew Simmler, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Luke Jefferies was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Palo Verde's win bumped their record up to 25-8. As for Shadow Ridge, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-18.

Coming up, Palo Verde will face off against Non JV Opponent at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Shadow Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
