Volleyball Recap: Aubry Dowling Key Part of Team Effort in Marauders Win

Mt. Vernon's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Triton Central Tigers as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Marauders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Mt. Vernon never let Triton Central on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-19, 28-26, 25-19.

Mt. Vernon got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Aubry Dowling out in front who had 23 digs and two assists. That's the most digs Dowling has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was Amelia Anderson, who had seven digs and three aces.

Mt. Vernon was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Mt. Vernon's victory ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 15-5. As for Triton Central, their loss ended a six-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-6.

Mt. Vernon has already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Lawrence North on the 25th. As for Triton Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Southwestern on the 25th.
