Baseball Recap: Bear Creek Takes a Loss

Bear Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Galena Grizzlies, falling 22-1. The match marked the Bears' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Bear Creek saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matt Hegerle, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one double. Hegerle has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times he's played. Jamin Patterson also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Bear Creek's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Galena, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-4.

Coming up, Bear Creek will challenge Conifer at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Galena, they will face off against Douglas at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
