Baseball Recap: Monroe County Finds Home Field Redemption Against Clinton County

There's no place like home for Monroe County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Clinton County Bulldogs by a score of 12-9 on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Falcons: when they faced off against the Bulldogs back in March, they had to take a 12-4 loss.

Caden Geralds made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Monroe County is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-9 otherwise. Geralds was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Noah Hagan was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Monroe County is undefeated when Hagan posts two or more runs, but 9-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Briar Bourque, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Monroe County's record is now 12-10. As for Clinton County, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Monroe County beat the Bulldogs by a score of 12-9 later that day.
