Football Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Pantego Christian

Pantego Christian put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down the Coram Deo Academy Lions 62-43. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Pantego Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Anthony Jackson, who rushed for 310 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Jackson is now averaging an impressive 132 rushing yards per game. Hayes Young was another key signal caller, throwing for 226 yards and four TDs while completing 73.7% of his passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Pantego Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 474 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 188 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.

Pantego Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Mason Hickman and Jackson. Jackson is also on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Pantego Christian's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Coram Deo Academy, they moved to 3-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pantego Christian will square off against Trinity Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Panthers their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Coram Deo Academy, they will head out to challenge Sacred Heart at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
