Basketball Game Preview: Wheeler County Bulldogs vs. Treutlen Vikings

The Wheeler County Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Treutlen Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Wheeler County is coming into the match on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight wins. They came out on top against Dooly County by a score of 44-35 on Saturday.

It was another big night for Nikita James, who dropped a double-double with 30 points and ten rebounds. Wheeler County is 3-1 when James posts ten or more boards, but 2-14 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Justise Dubose, who posted four points in addition to nine rebounds and four steals.

Wheeler County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive boards. They are 5-12 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Meanwhile, Treutlen hadn't done well against Dublin recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Treutlen took down Dublin 53-39.

The victory got Treutlen back to even at 12-12. As for Wheeler County, their record now sits at 5-15.

Wheeler County opened the new year with a less-than-successful 49-37 defeat to Treutlen. Can Wheeler County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
