Glenn hasn't had much luck against Knox recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Falcons will welcome the Redskins at 5:30 p.m. Glenn is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
If Glenn beats Knox with 11 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Falcons beat Elkhart Christian Academy on Monday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.
Lexie Baugher spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 13 Ks.
At the plate, Glenn let Makinzie Kline and Sophia Lizzi run wild. Kline got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple, while Lizzi went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases Lizzi has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Makayla Laskowski, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Glenn kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Knox was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 6-2 to North Newton.
Knox saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cheryl Barnes, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Alyssa Manns also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Knox's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Glenn, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Knox's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Glenn has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Knox, though, as they've been averaging 9.5 hits. Given Glenn's sizable advantage in that area, the Redskins will need to find a way to close that gap.
Glenn couldn't quite get it done against Knox in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 5-1. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
