Baseball Recap: Odyssey Institute Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Odyssey Institute, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the River Valley Dust Devils 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Minotaur: when they faced off against the Dust Devils last Wednesday, they had to take a 13-8 loss.

Charles Lucas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Odyssey Institute is 3-0-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-5 otherwise.

The win got Odyssey Institute back to even at 5-5-1. As for River Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Odyssey Institute will host Seton Catholic at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for River Valley, they will be playing at home against Highland Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Dust Devils are facing the Honey Badgers at the right time seeing as the Honey Badgers are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
