Ashe County piles up the points against Newton-Conover

Recap: Ashe County Huskies vs. Newton-Conover Red Devils
The Ashe County Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 28 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Newton-Conover 54-23 on the road. Given Ashe County's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while Newton-Conover is ranked 466th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
The win got Ashe County back to even at 5-5. As for Newton-Conover, they have fallen quite a ways from their 25-5 record last season and are now at 1-7.
Ashe County will finish 2023 at home by hosting North Davidson at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Newton-Conover and Alexander Central will round out the year against one another at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Alexander Central is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
