Basketball Recap: Crespi Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Crespi was riding high fresh off their 75-44 takedown of Bakersfield Christian on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Celts were just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 78-77 to the Village Christian Crusaders. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (75), the Celts still had to take the loss.

Crespi's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaiah Barnes, who shot 53% from the field to rack up 29 points and eight boards. The matchup was Barnes' fourth in a row with at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Nickon Daei, who went 8-for-10 en route to 23 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Crespi fell to 4-1. As for Village Christian, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Looking ahead, Crespi will take on JSerra Catholic at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Celts will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 50.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Village Christian, they will square off against Tampa Catholic at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
