Softball Recap: Newsome Wolves vs. Lennard Longhorns
Newsome can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Lennard Longhorns a 15-0 shutout. The win was nothing new for Newsome as they're now sitting on four straight.
Mya Wells looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Kiera Armato was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Elayna Armato, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Newsome is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Lennard, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
Newsome will be playing at home against Steinbrenner at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lennard, they will head out on the road to face off against Leto at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lennard is facing Leto at the right time seeing as Leto is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
