Flag Football Game Preview: Eastlake Titans vs. Otay Ranch Mustangs

Eastlake is 0-4 against Otay Ranch since September of 2023 but things could change on Tuesday. The Titans will take on the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. Otay Ranch took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Eastlake, who comes in off a win.

Eastlake's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 21-0 margin over Chula Vista. The Titans not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since August 18th (when they won 23-0).

Meanwhile, Otay Ranch was just a hair shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 8-7 to Mater Dei Catholic. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 333rd, while the Crusaders are ranked 122nd).

The win made it two in a row for Eastlake and bumps their season record up to 4-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.0 points over those games. As for Otay Ranch, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.

Eastlake took a serious blow against Otay Ranch in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 46-7. Can the Titans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
