Basketball Game Preview: Reed Point/Rapelje Renegades vs. Plenty Coups Warriors

Reed Point/Rapelje hasn't had much luck against Plenty Coups recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Reed Point/Rapelje Renegades just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Plenty Coups Warriors at 2:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Reed Point/Rapelje comes in on three and Plenty Coups on seven.

Reed Point/Rapelje will bounce into Saturday's contest after beating Roberts, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. Reed Point/Rapelje strolled past Roberts with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 42-27.

Reed Point/Rapelje's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Charile Hertweck, who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Kami Herzog, who scored 11 points.

While Plenty Coups didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-9), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Bridger/Belfry last Saturday, sneaking past 71-68. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while Bridger/Belfry are ranked 95th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Reed Point/Rapelje's record is now 5-6. As for Plenty Coups, their record is now 7-0.

Reed Point/Rapelje ended up a good deal behind Plenty Coups in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, losing 60-43. Can Reed Point/Rapelje avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
