Softball Recap: Lafayette's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

There's no place like home for Lafayette, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past the Dixie County Bears 11-1 on Monday. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Ella McAdams, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Anistyn Bass, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Lafayette moved to 10-9 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Dixie County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Looking ahead, Lafayette will square off against Madison County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cowboys' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Hornets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Dixie County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bronson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
