Baseball Recap: Pensacola Catholic Wins Going Away Against Crestview

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pace, Pensacola Catholic was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the Crestview Bulldogs 11-1. The win continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.

Colton Guillot made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI.

In other batting news, Jalen Moton and Ben Bates did most of the damage at the plate: Moton scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances, while Bates scored a run while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs Moton has posted since back in April of 2024. Ladarius Dennis was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Pensacola Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crestview only posted a batting average of .125.

Pensacola Catholic's record now sits at 2-4. As for Crestview, they dropped their record down to 2-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Pensacola Catholic has already played their next game, a 10-5 victory against Spanish Fort on the 6th. As for Crestview, they will be playing at home against Pace at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
