Baseball Recap: Bellaire Extends Winning Streak to Four

While Bellaire didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-10), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Central Lake Trojans on Tuesday. Considering the Eagles have won three matchups by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Colin Bearup made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Milan Astle, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those RBI were his first of the season. Keegan Lovett was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

The win keeps Bellaire at an undefeated 4-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 11.0 runs this season. As for Central Lake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Looking ahead, Bellaire will head out to square off against Forest Area at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Central Lake, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East Jordan at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Red Devils will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight.
