Washington is 1-9 against Orting since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Patriots will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Washington will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Franklin Pierce, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Patriots were the clear victors by an 18-8 margin over the Cardinals on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Patriots needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
Stevie-Rae Garcia Zamora made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up eight earned runs off nine hits. Garcia Zamora was even better at the plate, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.

In other batting news, Alayna Bisson was incredible, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Harmony Steenhard was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
Washington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Franklin Pierce only posted an OBP of .389.
Meanwhile, Orting had just enough and edged out Eatonville 9-8 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Cruisers: they've now won three in a row.
Ava McCall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and six unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Macy Sullenger, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Norah Fenton, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
The victory got Washington back to even at 1-1. As for Orting, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Everything went Washington's way against Orting when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Washington made off with an 11-1 victory. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Cardinals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
