Houghton won the last time they faced Sturgeon Bay and things went their way on Saturday too. The Gremlins came out on top against the Clippers by a score of 2-0.

Despite the defeat, Sturgeon Bay saw an underclassman step up: freshman Makenna Coyhis had 13 assists and five digs. Coyhis is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last four games she's played. Sofia Sternard also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

Houghton's win bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Sturgeon Bay, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's still a better percentage than their 6-22 record this season.

Houghton will take on Calumet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sturgeon Bay, they have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Omro on the 4th.
