Recap: Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles vs. Brookland-Cayce Bearcats
The Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 20 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Brookland-Cayce 84-41 on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 50-18.
Gray Collegiate Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Braylhan Thomas out in front who scored 23 points. Thomas also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Treyvon Maddox was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five steals.
Gray Collegiate Academy's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.3 points per game. As for Brookland-Cayce, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
Gray Collegiate Academy is on the road again on Thursday and play against North Augusta at 8:30 p.m. on December 21st. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (North Augusta is ranked 13th, while Gray Collegiate Academy is ranked 16th). As for Brookland-Cayce, they will head out on the road to face off against Marion at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.
