Baseball Recap: Cardinal Newman Drops Highest Score of Season Against Benjamin

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cardinal Newman). They came out on top against the Benjamin Buccaneers by a score of 9-5 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Buccaneers: they've now won three in a row.

Gabriel Acevedo was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Carl Calixte, who went 2-for-5 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Cardinal Newman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
