Baseball Recap: Murrieta Mesa Comes Up Short

Murrieta Mesa couldn't beat Great Oak on Wednesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the first inning. The Rams fell just short of the Wolfpack by a score of 9-8. While the Rams didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wolfpack 5-1 in the first period.

Murrieta Mesa got a good showing from Morgan Dorlaque, who pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Dorlaque has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alex Goettman was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Elijah Resendiz, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Murrieta Mesa's defeat dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Great Oak, their win bumped their record up to 12-16.

As of now, neither Murrieta Mesa nor the Wolfpack have any future games scheduled.
