Recap: Marist War Eagles vs. Lithonia Bulldogs
The Marist War Eagles entered their tilt with the Lithonia Bulldogs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Marist came out on top against Lithonia by a score of 56-47 on Saturday. Given Marist's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while Lithonia is ranked 252nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Marist was led to victory by Owen Ritger and Jackson Harkness. Ritger scored 15 points along with five rebounds, while Harkness scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Luke Harpring, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Marist has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Lithonia, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Marist will stay at home for another game and welcome South Cobb at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Rajah Morgan and Ritger. As for Lithonia, they will head out on the road to take on M.L. King at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in M.L. King's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests.
