Football Recap: Crest Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games + How To Watch

Crest had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They strolled past the South Point Red Raiders with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 28-14. The game was the first time the Chargers have beaten the Red Raiders on their field since August 17, 2018.

Michael Edwards went supernova, rushing for 93 yards and a pair of TDs. Jason Black was another key player, gaining 100 total yards and a touchdown.

Crest didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of D'Various Surratt and Donovan Walton. With that strong performance, Walton is now averaging an impressive 1.1 defended passes per game.

Although South Point took the loss, they still got scores from Kaveaun Pless and Jesse Ledford.

Crest is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.9 points over those games. As for South Point, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 10-3 record.

Looking ahead, Crest will challenge Hickory at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Chargers will need to watch out since the Red Tornadoes have now posted at least 31 points in their last 12 games. South Point does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
