Avon hadn't done well against Plainfield recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Avon Orioles put the hurt on the Plainfield Quakers with a sharp 65-44 win. Winning may never get old, but the Orioles sure are getting used to it with their 12th in a row.

Avon was led to victory by Keriawn Berry and Jedidiah Minnett. Berry dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards, while Minnett went 7 of 11 on his way to 19 points. The match was Berry's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of DeAndre Lott-Hancock, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 boards.

Avon was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Plainfield only racked up eight assists.

Despite the defeat, Plainfield had strong showings from Noah Smith, who posted 13 points along with five boards and three blocks, and Landon Gilliatt, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton East, who put up four points.

Avon's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1. As for Plainfield, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

Avon will venture away from home to take on Mt. Vernon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Avon is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.7 points per game this season. As for Plainfield, they will host Northview at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
