Basketball Recap: Schaumburg Christian Takes a Loss

If Schaumburg Christian was riding high fresh off their 58-36 takedown of Aurora Central Catholic last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Schaumburg Christian Conquerors were beaten by the Marian Central Catholic Hurricanes 73-46 on Saturday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Conquerors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-57 last Tuesday.

When it comes to explaining why Schaumburg Christian lost, don't look at Elliot Foy. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and six rebounds. Foy continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Lucas Bustamante, who posted five points and six assists.

Schaumburg Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season. As for Marian Central Catholic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-10.

Schaumburg Christian will square off against Westlake Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Marian Central Catholic, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Sycamore at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
