Basketball Recap: Hanson Comes Up Short

Hanson suffered their biggest loss since March 5, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against the Freeman Flyers, falling 76-55. The Beavers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Flyers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Leading Freeman to victory were Tate Sorensen and David Walter. Sorensen almost dropped a double-double with 28 points and nine boards, while Walter almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds. Walter's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Tayden Kerrigan, who posted nine points and five boards.

Hanson's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Freeman, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Hanson will face off against Wessington Springs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Freeman, they will take on Corsica/Stickney at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Freeman's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten matchups.
