Recap: Norfolk Collegiate Mighty Oaks vs. Norcom Greyhounds
The Norfolk Collegiate Mighty Oaks put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 66-52 victory over Norcom. Given Norfolk Collegiate's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Norcom is ranked 163rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Norfolk Collegiate to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brennan Chatman, who scored 21 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 steals. Chatman is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now stole two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Burrough, who scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds and 6 assists.
Norfolk Collegiate has yet to lose a game on the road this season, leaving them with a 5-0 record. As for Norcom, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Norfolk Collegiate will take on Lafayette at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday. As for Norcom, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Booker T. Washington at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
