Basketball Recap: Eek Victorious

Eek won against Nelson Island on Sunday with 63 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Monday. The Cougars came out on top against the Ket'acik and Aapalluk Memorial Carayiit by a score of 63-56. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 61-49 victory the Carayiit walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

It was another big night for John Friendly, who posted 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of George Hoffman, who earned 14 points.

The win made it two in a row for Eek and bumps their season record up to 13-4. As for Ket'acik and Aapalluk Memorial, they moved to 12-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Eek has already played their next contest, a 71-63 victory against Z John Williams on the 3rd. Ket'acik and Aapalluk Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
