Soccer Game Preview: Juan Diego Catholic vs. Uintah

The Juan Diego Catholic Soaring Eagle will head out to challenge the Uintah Utes at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Thursday, Juan Diego Catholic made easy work of Summit Academy and carried off a 9-1 win. Daniel Keegan was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Something new happened on Thursday as Orlando Rocha saw his first action of the season, playing 60 minutes against Summit Academy. Rocha made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal and one assist A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Uintah). They never let Payson get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for Uintah as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

The victory made it two in a row for Juan Diego Catholic and bumps their season record up to 6-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those two games. As for Uintah, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 4-7.
