Chiefland has gone a perfect 10-0 against Bronson recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Indians will challenge the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Chiefland will be strutting in after a win while Bronson will be coming in after a loss.
Bronson will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Chiefland extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Indians sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over Dixie County. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Indians have posted against the Bears since February 23, 2021.
Garrett Byrd was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Chiefland is 5-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-8 otherwise. Byrd was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Osten Jones, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Taylor Brown was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Bronson didn't have quite enough to beat Crescent City on Friday and fell 13-12.
Bronson got a massive performance out of Zach McClelland, who scored a run and stole four bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Cooper Howard, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.
Bronson has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Chiefland, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-9.
Everything went Chiefland's way against Bronson in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, as Chiefland made off with a 16-0 win. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
