Football Game Preview: Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood Mavericks vs. Kenmare/Bowbells/Burke Central Honkers

Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood is a perfect 4-0 against Kenmare/Bowbells/Burke Central since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Mavericks will square off against the Honkers at 7:00 p.m.

Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 50 points two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Divide County on Friday. They took a hard 29-12 fall against the Maroons. The game marked the Mavericks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Eli Undlin, who picked up 105 receiving yards and one touchdown, and Drayson Johnson, who threw for 172 yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kenmare/Bowbells/Burke Central). They were the clear victors by a 34-12 margin over Dunseith last Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Honkers.

Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Kenmare/Bowbells/Burke Central, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood strolled past Kenmare/Bowbells/Burke Central in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a score of 56-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mavericks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
